Diploma in Culinary Arts

This 8 month diploma program will introduce the students to culinary arts in a more comprehensive and intensive approach. This course is specially designed to provide the students with a solid and strong foundation in cooking complemented with great academic atmosphere and campus life. This course also provides students with advanced culinary knowledge that they can use to pursue their future careers. It is a combination of demonstration classes, hands-on, practical knowledge, field trips, culinary competitions, community service, career development seminars and chef mentoring.

Students will also learn classical cooking, International and Asian cuisine, quantitative cooking, the art of butchering, baking and pastry, restaurant & catering business, nutrition, safety & sanitation, product identification, purchasing and cost control & event management in  GCIC’s dedicated building facility with top-of-the-line kitchen laboratory, resto-café, library, and classrooms.

We also encourage and mentor our students to explore their own style and creativity. Assignments and projects are provided to encourage multi-tasking, being detail oriented and working under time constraints.

In addition, students in our diploma program will have the option to continue on to our Bachelor in Hospitality Management Degree. The culinary classes in the diploma program can be use to credit some specific culinary classes in our degree program as approved by the Dean of HM. This is designed to provide an option for our students to have a solid academic foundation for their careers and personal growth.
