Graduation Announcement

ATTENTION: March, 2010 Candidates For Graduation

Please check the list of candidates for graduation at the Dean's office bulletin boards.
Note:
- Students with deficiencies - please report to the Registrar's Office immediately for compliance before the MIDTERM EXAM.
- Students whose names are NOT in the LIST must report to the Registrar's Office for re-evaluation of your records immediately.
- Please read the Student Handbook (pp. 28-31) carefully re: GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS & related matters.

Application for graduation (graduation data with notice of attendance) and graduation with honors deadline: last November, 2009.
Note: For candidates who have not applied yet, you are given up to January 29, 2010 to comply.
- Students with cross-enrolled subjects MUST submit their CE grades one week after the end of classes.
- Please check the registrar's office bulletin boards often for graduation related announcements, concern and updates.
Graduation Requirements
- Satisfactory completion of all requirements prescribed in the curriculum.
- They should meet the residency requirements (at least two years in the College) - 50% of the total number of units required for the course and 75% in their major areas.
- Prospective candidates for graduation and those with HONORS must apply for the final evaluation of their academic records and file their application for graduation on the dates specified by the Registrar's Office.
- A student/candidate will not be included in the Commencement Program and cannot participate in the Commencement Exercises unless curricular and departmental clearances have been completed.
- Attendance Notice - A candidate for graduation
signifies his intention to participate in the
Commencement Exercises by filing the prescribed
ATTENDANCE NOTICE with the Office of the
Registrar on the date posted for this
purpose. Only students who have
filed their attendance notice and
completed all their requirements on
time shall be allowed to join the
graduation ceremonies.
Graduation Honors
- Recognition for academic achievements and application for such in the form of honors and awards shall be given to students who complete their courses with the following cumulative averages, computed on the basis of units earned provided he/she has no grades lower than 2.25 in any subject.
- To graduate with honors, at least fifty percent (50%) of the total credits toward the degree must have been earned at GCIC.
- The G.P.A. of graduating students refer to their cumulative G.P.A.

- In the case of transferees and those who shifted from one program toanother within the College, the grades of all the courses that GCIC credited will be included in the computation of cumulative G.P.A.
- Non-academic subjects shall not be included in the computation of the cumulative G.P.A. However, a failing grade in these subjects shall disqualify a student from graduating with honors.

A student shall be disqualified from graduating with honors if he/she has:
- a failure in any course/subject whether academic or non-academic.
- been found guilty of a major offense.
