Global Educators Convene the WCCI First National Student Chapter Convention
The World Council for Curriculum and Instruction is a transnational organization of educators primarily aimed at establishing a person-to person contact in building a peaceful and humane global community, a registered organization with the United Nations under cluster B. Economics of the UNESCO. It has celebrated its Ruby(40th) anniversary in the international level and its Sliver(25th) anniversary in the Philippines.
The student teachers all over the Philippines will convene during the World Council for Curriculum and Instruction (WCCI) First National Student Chapter Convention on March 3, 2012 , 8:00A.M. to 5:00 P.M. at the Meralco Multipurpose Hall, Pasig City. The main speaker is Prof. Ambeth Ocampo, known as the global educator who will inspire them of the ideals and heroism of Dr. Jose Rizal. The student teachers will likewise be exposed to choose the interest groups of the WCCI which are: Global Education, Gender Education, Media Technology, Environmental Sustainability, Human Rights Education, Ethics, Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Community Development , Cultural Arts Education and Peace Education. They will be introduced to focus their personal and professional development growth programs in such interest group in their present and future networking with fellow members in the Philippines as well as in other parts of the world.
A Talk show from the former WCCi National Presidents as : Dr. Fe Hidalgo, Dr. Nina Lim-Yuson, Dr. Dalisay Brawner, Dr. Carmen Cabato, Dr. Carolina Danao, Dr. Aleli Sevilla and Dr. Lala Castillo will be moderated by Dr. Teresita Pedrajas and Mr. Jayson Bergania . The student teachers will be given a chance to join specific interest groups to plan their program of activities.Election of Officers will take place and the Induction of officers will be solemnized with an Inspirational message by the CHED Chairman ,Dr. Patricia B. Licuanan.This national gathering is mainly organized by the School of Education of one of the Best Colleges in Taguig, Philippines, Global City Innovative College with the current WCCI National Executive Board headed by Fr. Orlando Aceron , OP of the Colegio de San Juan de Letran ; co sponsored by the One Meralco Foundation , Phoenix Publishing House, Edusoft Ltd.- Edu-Power, Anvil Publishing House ,Serah Printing Services and La Concordia International College among others. Invitations via the CHED Regional Directors have been coursed through them to encourage the Presidents and Deans of Education to send their student teachers.
