Office of the Alumni Affairs

The Office of the Alumni Affairs (OAA), created under the Office of the President, serves as liaison betwen the alumni and the GCIC community. The OAA seeks to facilitate maximum participation, involvement, cooperation, support and commitment of the alumni to the vision and mission of the GCIC as an academic institution. As a link, it also facilitates effective communication and a mutually working relationship.

The Office of Alumni Affairs assists the GCIC and the GCIC Alumni Association, Inc. (GCICAAI) in identifying, promoting and involving the alumni in institutional and alumni programs, events and activities. It also represents the College and GCICAAI at institutional and alumni programs, events and activities both local and international venues whenever possible.

Alumni Association Membership Card - The membership card entitles alumni to a number of benefits such as discount on purchases, eligibility to use selected school facilities, such as the library and career services, and invitations to special college sponsored events and programs:
  1. Library privileges
  2. Use of school facilities
  3. Discount privileges in shopping, restaurants, stores, athletic and health facilities


Alumni Programs


Information Databank

The Information Databank keeps and updates alumni records which may be used by the College and the alumni association in their programs and activities.

Alumni Locater/Tracer

The Alumni Locater tracts the whereabouts of alumni which shall help the College and other alumni to contact and connect with them.

Alumni Association Liaison

The Office of the Alumni serves as the liaison and link between the alumni and GCIC community which shall provide a venue for formal interaction among then.

Centralized Communications

Recognizing that communication is a key to any good relationship, the OAA shall be the office which collects and disseminates news, information and announcements affecting the alumni through the publication of a newsletter and creation of an alumni website.

Career Development and Placement Coordination

The Career and Development and Placement program provides support for the alumni at all stages of their careers. It coordinates with the Career Assistance and Resource Office to assist alumni to identify and begin career path, select an appropriate graduate school, explore a variety of employment opportunities both locally and overseas, and connect with other GCIC alumni to provide graduate school or career networking ideas and advice.

Scholarships

Scholarship grants are being offered by the office, with the assistance of the alumni association, to help GCIC students with good academic standing to pursue their education.

Homecomings and Reunions

The Office facilitates the conduct of formal gatherings such as homecomings and reunions which helps the alumni to have the opportunity to be reunited and connected.
